This month sees the launch of the Foodbank Project in this church, and also a project to assist in providing Bibles in the Ukraine. The Foodbank provides food for the body and the Bible project provides food for the soul. We are privileged in that we have sufficient, and even plenty, of both here. Jesus said “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me” and He says whatever we do for anyone, we do it for Jesus. You can help support these projects in the following ways
Pick up a copy of the book Fire by Night for £3.00 from the table, or telephone the office to arrange to pick up a copy. Our friends Richard and Sara Michalski are currently distributing Bibles in Ukraine at a cost of $3.00 each and all the money we raise will go towards their work.
The Foodbank project still needs items such as tins of meat, fish, vegetables, sop, tomatoes, rice pudding, sponge pudding and fruit, and also tea bags, sugar, coffee, powdered milk and UHT milk, jam, biscuits, rice, pasta and pasta sauces. You can take any donations to Hope House Church Barnsley, Christ Church Ardsley or the Methodist Church Hoyland.
