During the month of May in Growth Groups we will be looking at “Preparing the Way”. Things don’t just happen, there is usually some preparation involved. If you take a holiday you don’t just turn up at the airport one day, you have to choose a destination, book your accommodation and flights, obtain local currency and pack a suitcase.

We are all on a journey called Life, our destination is Heaven, and we need to prepare. We can prepare ourselves by reading the Bible and allowing God to speak to us as we read, praying, and most importantly asking Jesus to come into our hearts and lives and be our Saviour. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.”

Usually, when a family go on a journey it is the mother or wife who undertakes the preparation for the rest of the family. Everyone is part of God’s family and we need to prepare the way for others to find the way to the Kingdom of Heaven. Although Jesus said no one could come to God any other way but through him, that does not mean that we cannot lead people and show them the way to go, by telling others about the love that God has for us, and the difference he has made in our lives.

When we go on a journey or holiday to a place that we think is fantastic, we like to tell others about it, and it’s the same with the Kingdom of Heaven. It’s a great place to be journeying to and it begins now!
