At the end of this month, we will be celebrating a wedding. Lots of planning and preparation will have gone into making the big day as special as possible for the happy couple, drawing up the guest list, selecting the venue and choosing wedding garments. Not everyone is invited to a wedding; the line has to be drawn somewhere, maybe due either to expense or how many people the venue can accommodate, but when we are invited to a wedding we either have to accept or decline the invitation, and if we accept we usually go on to buy some new wedding finery so that we too look our best in honour of the bride and groom. The Bible tells us of another wedding that will take place when Jesus comes again and everyone is invited, no-one is left out! The planning for this wedding has not just been going on for months, it has been going on forever. God had planned before the foundation of the world that Jesus would come as a baby, grow up to become a man and then die on the cross to take our place and atone for our sin, and that one day Jesus would return for all those who believe in Him. The guest list is drawn up and we are all invited because the Bible tells us that”God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” and that means everyone. All we have to do is accept our invitation by saying “Yes” to Jesus, asking Him into our hearts to be our Saviour and we can experience the greatest wedding of all time, when we will be decked in all our finery, the garments or salvation, the robes or righteousness and the garments of praise ! Why not accept your invitation today, ask Jesus to be your Saviour and make sure of your place at the wedding feast?
