September sees the start of the new academic year.  Children are returning to school and young people are returning to college or university.  In the Old Testament, King Solomon asked God for wisdom and knowledge.  It’s good to be knowledgeable and that is why we attend school and college, but it’s also good to have the wisdom to apply what we learn.

Some people may be starting school, college or university for the first time and may experience mixed emotions.  Outgoing children and young people may be excited at what the future holds while those who are more reserved may view it with trepidation.  One thing is certain; the future is always brighter if we place our trust in God and allow Him to guide our steps.  When King Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs in the Bible he said: “Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: if you find it there is a future hope for you.”  So, it’s important that all of us continue to learn, not just academically, but to learn that there is a God who loves us and cares about us and all we have to do is trust Him.
