This month sees the completion of the new first-floor area and we want to thank everyone for their contribution towards this project, both in time, talent and monetary gifts. It’s wonderful that the church is growing to such an extent that the building needs to be expanded. In the book of Acts, we read that 3000 people became Christians in one day and that people were being added to the church on a daily basis!
Yet growth is not just about numbers, there is another type of growth that is important too. When a baby is born into a family, it is expected to reach developmental milestones at various stages of its life. If a five-year-old child is still drinking milk from a baby bottle and wearing nappies, there would be something wrong. Similarly, God expects us to grow and mature into the people He intended us to be and reach our full potential.
We need to grow in faith, grow in love, grow in grace; in other words grow to be like Jesus. The Apostles Paul and Peter tell us that to do this we need to grow in the knowledge of the Lord. We are never too old to learn something new.
Growth Groups are starting again this month, why not come along to one near you and learn more about the Bible and God’s plan for your life, and how He wants you to develop and grow? For details of Growth Group venues, please see Frank and Sally.
