We are an active, Bible believing Church right in the heart of the community. The
congregation is made up from people from all walks of life, from toddlers to seniors, from Barnsley and from further afield. We are committed to making disciples and making a difference in our world.
We make a difference to individuals and families, by providing services each week that
inspire faith and provide opportunity to encounter God’s presence. We regularly see God at work in many ways, and we know that He can bring transformation in even the most difficult situation. Our Engine Room Prayer Group and Special Prayer Team are engaged in powerful prayer, and God works as we pray.
We support the local community by running school holiday programmes for children and hosting monthly events for seniors at the Church and services in nearby residential homes. We provide training and opportunity in community leadership for young people through Team Days, Young Lions bootcamp, and Hope Night, an informal event for children and young people of all ages. In addition, we have developed relationships with a range of local and national agencies, enabling us to refer individuals and families to appropriate support
services.
Our vision reaches around the world; this year we have been actively involved in a mission trip to Bulgaria and supporting missionaries, Gabrielle and Daniella Corradini, who are planting churches in Northern Spain. Our connection with Assemblies of God GB means that we have partners in every continent, committed to the important command of Jesus “go and make disciples”.
Sunday Morning Service
From the moment you arrive we want you to feel more than welcome. If you travel by car there is a car park area, and ample parking on the road outside or if you travel by bus the nearest bus stop is only metres away from the Church. You will find a warm welcome in our reception area and will be helped to find a seat in the main hall. The main hall is accessible and offers a hearing loop facility.
The service begins at 10.30am with praise and worship, normally led by our resident team. After a short update on upcoming events and information we give our offering, as an expression of gratitude to God for all He has given us, and as an expression of commitment to what He’s doing in the Church. On the first Sunday of each month, we have communion together, and Children’s Church for 3- to 10-year-olds.
The Children’s Church workers are DBS checked, and you can be confident that your child, or children, are in good hands. At this point we have some great Bible teaching, either from one of our Pastors or a member of our preaching team. This will help you have a better grasp of the Bible and see God at work in your life. We normally conclude at 12.00 noon, and you’re welcome to stay for tea and coffee. We want you to leave feeling full of faith in Jesus and ready to start your week knowing He has great plans for you!
